Welcome to Mind Haven. I plan to post whatever's on my mind at the moment, from my life to thoughts from God's Word to discussion of current events.
I thought I'd share some encouraging verses from my latest favorite Psalm (145). These verses are also quite thought-provoking:
16You open your hand;
you satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17The LORD is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works.
18The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;
he also hears their cry and saves them.(ESV)
Imagine a ruler who has perfect knowledge, knows every situation in detail, and decides the ideal solution--every time. We can only dream of having such a leader on this earth. Yet there is a God in heaven who is just waiting for us to call to Him and fulfill His desire for our lives. What are we waiting for? We complain that we don't hear anything from God.
We say our relationship with Him has grown cold. Yet what does he ask in these verses? Not attendance at every meeting of your church. Not going out and helping the less fortunate. Not just talking about the things of God with others.
All of these are great things. But what will cause God to be near to us? We must "call on Him in truth." Call on Him! Get close to God! Talk to Him and get to know Him! Spend time in His Word! That's the only way that we can live out God's will to the fullest.
